Calculate any recipe in 3 steps

1

Search ingredients

Type the name of any food and select it from over 100 common ingredients in our database, spanning meat, dairy, grains, vegetables, fruits, and pantry staples. Each addition is tracked separately so you can review or remove individual ingredients before finalising the recipe.

2

Enter weight in grams

Weigh your ingredients on a kitchen scale for the most accurate results — this matters more than it might seem, since eyeballing portions is one of the biggest sources of error in home nutrition tracking. A basic digital kitchen scale costs very little and pays for itself quickly in tracking accuracy.

3

Get instant results

See calories and macros for the whole recipe and per serving automatically, based on how many servings you specify. This makes it easy to compare how a recipe fits into a daily calorie or protein target, or to scale a recipe up or down while keeping the per-serving numbers accurate.

Frequently asked questions about recipe nutrition calculation

Not automatically — this calculator sums the raw ingredients you add, so if you fry something in oil, you should add the oil actually absorbed (typically a portion of what you used) as a separate ingredient for accuracy. Similarly, if a recipe reduces significantly during cooking (like a sauce), the calorie total stays the same, but it will be more concentrated per gram in the final dish.
Our database covers 100+ common foods, but can't include every brand or regional variation. For a close match, search for the generic version of the food (e.g. 'chicken breast' instead of a specific brand) — the values will be very close for most unprocessed foods, though packaged products can vary more since they include added ingredients.
Weigh raw, before cooking, for the most accurate match to our database values, which are based on raw weight for most items like meat and rice. If you only have the cooked weight, note that meat generally loses 20-25% of its weight when cooked and rice/pasta roughly doubles or triples in weight from water absorption — adjust accordingly if entering cooked weights.
